great, short, concise book

narrated well; robust in its content while being an overview/introduction

describes the stories, beliefs, & offshoots of Buddhism [Zen, Tibetan, etc.] from their inceptions & roots, to modern practice/popularity

the notion to take away is that Buddhists view life as necessarily painful [called suffering] between birth, life, & death; w/ a focus on MERITS to bring one's life out of the perpetual cycle; into something better [Samsara/Nirvana]

if trees can be judged by their fruits, the doctrines practiced & taught here are sure decent
