thoroughly good(!)

my third of E. B.'s children's classics, w/ the first being "Charlotte's Web" & the second "The Trumpet of the Swan" -- these are beloved(!)

the stories are extremely good, simple, earnest... memorable

in Stuart Little, he is born to parents & a family, & happens to be ~2 inches tall & looks exactly like a mouse [lol]

​​​​​​​we're treated to wholesome goodness within the family; a mischievous cat; a bird Stuart falls in love w/ [great sub-plot]; & plenty more...

he's a part-time substitute teacher, an avid boatsman, courageous & brave/protective...

i thoroughly enjoyed the voice of this one -- written in ~1945 so a snapshot in time
