“The 1997 Masters” by Tiger Woods
book review by Riley Burnham 10/28/2026
well right on(!)
Tiger takes us from his amateur golf career through his early professional years and his historically significant first Masters win, where he was the youngest, as well as first African American & Asian person to do so 👏
he talks about the impact it had socially, where his popularity skyrocketed, & how he celebrated
he describes his parents & upbringing, injuries, & some of the changes in the game since those days, as well as touching on his personal news-grabbing scandals
overall, this was a pretty good listen, & puts us in the headspace of a unique & talented competitor in his formative successes
