well... written in 1785, this is a surreal, fantasy fiction, similar in flavor/element to Willie Wonka [w/ the complete breaking of reality mechanics; so we get things like people in fish, lunar exploration, cannons to the face, scalping, etc. etc. etc.]

i completely lost the plot about midway through, just hearing it kind of rattle by [i'm a pretty lousy fiction-ready, truly]

my gut tells me this is a piece of [Jewish?] propaganda fiction written back then, as it hammers a bit of globe-shape [vs flat/actual], & makes mention of Captain Cook & Newton... i'm a flat-Earther so very suspicious of things like that

i saw Gilliam's 80s movie of the same, which is probably worth revisiting...

basically, tho, this is like a fantasy somersault w/ perhaps a point somewhere in there
