it's good(!)

a memoir from, as advertised, a maître d', which is a 'master of hospitality,' or the overseer of the front of a restaurant

we get [possibly embellished] stories of employee antics [drugs, sex, etc.], as well as interactions w/ the chef

we get high-roller customers placing $100s in people's palms, as well as difficult & irate customers causing their own griefs
